The Gas Meter market rose to 80.8 million meters in 2023 with a value of $5.5 billion and is predicted to reach 116 million meters by 2028. Methodology The publisher has a set of historical databases, first created in 1998 and regularly updated, among them the populations of energy consumers and meters in the domestic and C&I sectors for electricity, gas and water. Based on forecasts of energy consumption these have been projected to future targets. Demand is calculated based on new installations plus replacements. Replacements are based on historical installations less refurbishments. These calculations are reviewed after extensive internet searches, examination of national statistics, company and utility reports, meter production and trade data are correlated and reconciled by interviews with meter manufacturers.
